Booking Your Newborn Session Early

Booking your newborn session early is key. I get it mama – you just gave birth, you’re tired after labor, your hormones are all out of whack, you don’t know what you’re doing yet; I GET IT. That is why you should book your newborn session early. You don’t have to worry about any of this after you get home from the hospital.

Booking early also ensures availability!

Not only do I need time to create your perfect session and chose the best newborn props, infants grow incredibly fast. We recommend photographing those adorable poses around 10-14 days after your little one is born. That is how fast the human body gets to work! When babies are just born they are still just as flexible as they were in the womb. This contributes to those amazing images we can capture and why booking your newborn session early is so important!  Of course as you know babies have a mind of their own. There are times poses need to be adjusted for each specific baby. The weeks following your little ones birth they will develop a good eating schedule and as their little bellies grow some poses may not be as comfortable for them.

Time is a valuable thing. Your little ones growth isn’t the only factor when booking early. Booking your appointment before the baby is born ensures you get on my calendar (we fill our calendars fast!) and to take the mental stress of doing all of this scheduling and planning on top of caring for a newborn!

I am here to make sure your vision comes to life and I love hearing all of your newborn photo visions. We get excited when we get an opportunity to incorporate our unique newborn props! There will be some adjustments and we want to help you through that process. You can find the answers to many other frequently asked questions in our JDP Experience tab or reach out to the studio we would be glad to help.
